DEATH WHY?
Death why come suddenly,
To reduce our future generations,
Why take our scholars that easily,
Death why? Am asking why?
Death you made the brakes to fail,
And you took lives of our siblings and children,
You even didn’t spare our parents,
You’ve taken away our future leaders,
You’ve taken away our future in laws and spouses,
Death why did you come that early?
They gave us silent eternal goodbyes,
Even though nothing good was in those byes,
Their bodies that were once strong and active,
Now have been made dormant and cold,
It’s sad that we are marooned in mourning ocean,
As we ask ourselves thousands of questions,
Before we bury them six feet under,
And entangled in chains of mental wonders,
Death answer us!
Why did you go for those young educated ones?
You’ve made some of us childless,
You’ve made some of us hopeless,
You’ve made some of us orphans,
Just because of your greed!
Now we can’t afford peaceful nights,
As we cogitate on funeral expenses,
And overthink on wasted resources,
Death why?
Death but why?
Why do you make us shed bloody tears,
Why do you make us afraid of journeying,
Death why?
Why? why death?
